STOP THE TRAFFIK

Get Involved

The rally may have been completed but you can still get involved and here is how:

Give

Moldova is THE poorest country in Europe, with a GNP of less than most African nations, Moldova is extremely poor, especially considering the significant wealth of its neighbouring countries.

Through this rally, we are aiming to raise 1 Million Moldovan Leu’s, equivalent to £48,000 for two excellent Moldovan charities, both of which are doing some incredible work with the poorest and most marginalised in Moldova. To find out more about the charities we are working with and how the money will be spent, please go to the charities page.

If you would like to offer a donation to either charity to help them further their work, please click on the links below. All donations will be handled securely online by JustGiving and if you are a UK tax payer, we can claim an additional 25% on your donations.

Please donate, even a small amount will make a significant difference - Thankyou.

Become a Corporate Sponsor

We have estimated a cost of £4000 per vehicle to cover the 4000mile journey between the UK and Moldova. In order to maximise the money going direct to each charity, team snowdodgers are trying to cover the costs of the rally through corporate sponsorship.

If your company is interested in supporting the snowdodgers rally the please check out the sponsors page for me details.

Become a FUNDRAISER!

Do you like to actively get involved in making the world a better place? If so, then we would love to have you help us out as a fundraiser.

We have included a selection of useful resources below so people can get out there and raise awareness of what we are doing and help us achieve our target of 1 Million Leus.

Perhaps you are part of a Church, youth group or social club and think people would be interested in hearing about what we are up to. We have come up with a selection of fundraising ideas and a small fundraising pack of useful bits and bobs to help you on your way.

  • Sponsored Car wash:
Get a bucket, sponge, water and some fairy liquid (alternative brands of washing-up liquids are available…) and wash some cars. Simple! You could increase the appeal by offering a topless car wash – this activity is obviously only appropriate for the boys.
  • Car boot sale / garage sale:
Raid the loft, sort through the garage and sell what you don’t need. Remember, ‘one mans junk is another mans treasure’ – just look at some of the stuff on ebay!
  • Cake sale:
Everyone likes cake and they’re so easy to make. Why not find someone who knows what they’re doing, make some cakes and sell them at work / school / church / the local hairdressers.
  • Your very own X-Factor:
Put those years of balloon model training to good use. Organise your own X-Factor show. All you need is four grumpy judges and a load of people with no talent. If it works for ITV, it can work for you too.
  • Quiz night on Moldova:
Organise a pub style quiz with questions all about Moldova. There is plenty of random information online. Test out the nerdyness of your friends by asking them to answer a selection of random Moldovan questions.
  • Car push or pull:
Why not put your back out by organising a sponsored car push pull. Perhaps you could push a car through your town centre. Clearly this will require permission from the council and some level of assistance from the police. However, these things can be arranged!
  • How many people can you fit your car:
The world record for people in a Smart car is 16. Think you can beat it? Get a smart car, some friends (preferably ones you are happy to get in close proximity with) and see how many you can get in a car of your choice. This kind of thing is bound to land you in the local paper, or the A&E ward.
  • Sponsored swim / walk / silence:
Think of something you can do that people can sponsor you for and do it!
  • Nintendo Wii games tournament:
Popular with both the young and old! Why not organise a Nintendo Wii tournament. Get people to pay to enter, find some games and see who is the best. Wii Wimbledon anyone?
  • Driving simulator fastest laps:
If the Wii is not your thing perhaps you would prefer to steam around a virtual track in a virtual sports car? Grand-Toursimo, Driver, Colin McCrae Rally… the options are endless. Get people to pay for a go and record the best time from 3 laps.

You may have even more ideas of how to catch peoples imaginations. If you want to get involved in fundraising, please download the fundraising pack below which explains more of what we are doing and ways you can help out:
